I've switched to stamped nuts also because the nylocks degrade or melt over time.

I doubt you have time, but another random thing, consider repacking the front with high temp (disk) green water proof grease. I did this on the jeep for the jamboree last year and haven't had any issues. I've been running it in the steering and ujoints joints and I'm planning on switching the bronco front bearings (since I sunk the hubs at Hollister.)

When do have to be ready by? Tow rig and trailer ready?

Finally got around to making a decent long term switch solution.

Lower left is a double pole double throw. Lower position is hot on the ignition runs the e-fan based on an adjustable thermostat. Middle position is off. Top position is fan on with constant power so can run the fan with the motor off / key out.

Next to that is HID's on top of the bumper, then driving LED's, then rock lights, then underhood light, then open switch for future use.

Image

Underhood light you say? Check this out! 1 $8 LED!

Image

As as slight aside, with the new dual derale fan and big ass summit radiator this thing cools QUICK. Its unreal.

Got some new rubber delivered to work. I don't think the receptionists were pleased

The weekend looked a lot like this

Image

and this

Image

and various states of almost-doneness

Image

But all 4 tires are mounted and I drove it to work today. The Falkens are, predictably, much quieter and smoother than the IROK's. Will make the road days a little nicer!

I may have also been stupid and rolled the truck off the rear jack stands... Was high-lifting off the receiver to break beads. I knew there was a risk of this, stupid. Fortunately nothing damaged and nobody was in the way.

Image

Rob finished mounting up the winch, we got the rope on and even wired up the pro comp driving lights!

Image

Pro comp LED's only. The HID's are aimed high and perfectly fill in the gap right above where these fizzle out. Should have a lot of good light on this thing!
