This one shows the transfer case being protected, after the trip I will add on some bracing extending back. I will probably weld some 2x2 to the back of the cross piece, extending straight back.

That's a beefy skid plate! Agreed with your last point about adding some bracing to the back of that thing. As is it'd bend pretty easily behind that 2x2 cross piece. How did you bend that skid plate, know someone with a big break?

I hope it doesn't get bent too much before I can reinforce it, I don't have time now. We're camping at Voyager Rock Thursday, and starting thru the trail Friday morning. I have other things to get ready. I had Consolidated metal cut and bend the plate out of their own metal, $165 out the door. I just gave them the dimensions, drilled it myself, after transfer punching.

We didn't go thru Dusy. One rig had a fresh larger size engine that was running really hot, he only made it to the north end of Courtright Reservoir at Dusy Creek. Three of us went about a mile short of Thompson Hill, camped there, then rejoined them at Courtright. So I did about twenty miles without trouble.

Both tree deflectors got some use.

Glad to hear the truck is doing well. I still like the tree deflectors too

I trimmed the fenders right before the trip, made me sad..... You can see some damage where the fender got pushed in by a tree too, both sides got a little damage. It's hard to see with all the glare.

I got a used windshield wiper motor that works, but I'm now noticing that it parks up instead of down. This has been the problem all along, but I didn't notice. It must be overloading the motor trying to push the wipers down against the windshield seal. Tomorrow I will check the linkage, I'm thinking I got the arms on wrong on the drive disc under the dash. Doh!

It's kinda funny that it parks up, at least for us, we don't have to fix it

The wipers are working properly now. I couldn't switch the arms on the disc because they have unique attachment points. The arms are unique to left and right also. I took the piece off the shaft that drives the disc, and spun it 180 degrees. So this had the same effect of swapping the arms on the disc.

Ugly Truckling has a disc brake conversion kit for the Dodge Dana 70 closed knuckle, I sent a message asking if it would work for my International. I think it will, we'll see what they say.
