Post Re: not for sleeping
Random but thought I share;
I've used motorcycle LED license plate lights for my jeep and two other projects here at the shop. They mount thru the top two holes of the plate, wires go behind them. Very clean install and bright enough for a car plate to be visible at night.

Looking good Dave. I'll be watching this closely since I've thought of doing the same thing in a couple years

did a bunch of welding. Form is done and now I start adding some skin and a headache rack loop. Then suck the bumper in closer and taper it down a little.

notice the nice shiny new 5" shackles as well

yep. no way to use gas outside (windy). lots of crap looking welds and filling gaps because I cut badly but it should be strong enough for me.

Post Re: not for sleeping
So I have been beating my head against crappy looking welds for weeks. seemed like the weld just didn't want to stick and lots of spatter. Tried cleaning, tried changing angle, tried different materials, different wire, anti-spatter spray.....

wait for it....

:oops: had my leads swapped so I was welding with the - on the material and the + on the tip :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: didn't change it back from when I was playing with the aluminum.

my welds again look nice, now for some :mad: :banghead: rework and get out the grinder...

on a better note, anti spatter spray works nicely
