I read into the registration swap on a pick up and found it to be kinda grey area. It needs to be permanent and if you remove it and get caught it's REALLY BAD. Also, I found that in order to get a camper she'll to change your status, it has to have a toilet... that seemed to be where the online people waiver back and forth

interesting, the DMV person in pleasanton just said it had to permanently remove the capacity to carry an uncovered load.

I hear the same thing on the getting caught... very bad and after one time you are liable for the entire back reg. weight fee.

I had been thinking about my future trailer for a year or so. I wanted it to be more than just a car hauler so I was going to build sides for it. I also wanted a shorter trailer since anything longer than your rig is a waste. This guy built it almost exactly like I wanted. It was for sale for 2200 and so I went and checked it out. The tires are shotty, the frame mods aren't great and the wiring and brakes are in unknown condition. I told the guy "no thank you" and he said "wellllll, my HOA is going to start fining me for it so how cheap would it need to be for you to buy it?" I told him 1k and said ok.
Once I'm driving the bronco I'll overhaul the trailer.

It's been very popular. Had a couple of friends tie the knot recently and it was the bud for the Bachelor party (beer coated rear speakers upgrade) and then bussed the ladies to the wedding itself. It's been used for family functions and cheerleader duty for Victoria and her team ate. All in all, super happy with it. I need, NEED to work on the 68 again so I can drive it. Once that to that point, the excursion has a vibration from 55 to 65 so I ordered a full poly bushing kit because I'm pretty sure the Trac bar is the issue.
The trailer will be a project sometime in 2016 hopefully.

After my super comfy night at pismo, gas prices dropping to below $2 and so far the ability to carry everything so far..... still love the excursion. By far, the best bargain I've gotten in a long time. Highly recommend excursions for anyone considering one

I considered an excursion before I got my dually. They seem to make an awesome all around hauler. If I didn't have plans of a gooseneck horse trailer and need a truck bed so much I probably would have bought one too. Just curious what is your average gas mileage on that?

My mpg is off because I drive it 3 miles to and from work so it almost never gets up to temp. On freeway 14 mpg is standard. Obviously less than its superior diesel counterparts but still happy overall.
I'm not gonna lie, I would had preferred a truck bed for hauling the hay

We have used the Tahoe to haul hay and it's amazing how hard it is to vacuum it all out after. My old boss had a 7.3 Excursion and it only averaged around 15mpg so you're not doing too bad.
