Well its alive after its maiden voyage, see Pismo write up here

viewtopic.php?f=13&t=5439&p=80911#p80911

The good:
- The motor runs strong, and makes decent power, but see "the bad" below
- The trans shifts like there's a shift kit in it and the fluid is bright-ass-cherry-red!
- Welded diff FTW
- It ended the weekend running better than when we started, it seriously runs great!

The bad:
- Likely needs an oil pump, hopefully no damage as a result of low oil pressure
- Might need a starter or some wiring upgraded, wont start when hot
- Really needs seats if we're gonna keep at it
- Passenger and rear windows don't work
- Not enough supa flossy stickers

So we're at a bit of a cross-roads.

Do we keep it and actually put a little money in it? If so do we have a decent long term storage solution?

Or do we scrap it and cut our losses?

I'm on the keep It side. Also, you'll never have enough Supa Flossy stickers.

Do we have running total of cost / ownership blah blah? I'm sure I owe someone money.

If most or all want out, I'm down to work out something. Calrocks racing has been calling my name and I think that bko has potential lol

There are many answers to question and decisions to decide. Personally I want to build it for go-fast-sand-stuff. I've already got a rockcrawler(ish). Plus it seems like rock crawling competition is a quick way to destroy it. We beat on it all weekend at Pismo and didn't even break anything!

Ditto. In a world where it was my own, I'd concentrate on some actual gauges, sport cage, seats a belts for safety. Maybe work on the windows... maybe

Looks like fun!

Whatever you do with it, no excuses when the wheeling season comes. Better have your crawlers ready :goodfinger:

Sounds like we need to have another party to see what we want to do with it.

I'm thinking keep it as is. Fix the oil pump and get it out there again. Upgrades later depending on money flow and what breaks.

Rich did you buy in?

I did emotionally.... just need to know who I pay or, if there's too many owners already, let me know. So far I consider my time and money payment for time spent behind the wheel
