oh man last time I did hard drink on the con I lost a hat! It was over a year later when I returned and looked for said hat to find it had survived an entire winter on the con!

It's not on my first page list just yet, but for long distance trips (Rubicon, Fordyce, etc...) I also carry more electronics that could potentially disable my EFI engine like a spare computer, TPS, etc...

I carry a Power Probe 3 with me most of the time, specially on long trips. Use it at work with electrical diag. http://www.powerprobe.com/powerprobe/Home.html

Did a ZJ V8 tie rod and all ends swap on the TJ, so for long trips I will just carry the stock tie rod with me now.

(power probe) lol, sorry but I would be embarrassed to carry that. but keep in mind im an electronics engineer. I carry a DMM (digital multi meeter)

ya DMM solves most electrical problem, for me its nice for work to power up certain componets if I need to just for a quick check. I do like chasing electrical problems in cars when they have one although most can be found in like 15min or less. From what I recall we had 2 vehicles in the last yrs that took hrs as things didnt make any sense and electrical diagrams provide with alldata and TIS were somehow not right.
Another example is for a problem with power supply with fuel pump or something like that I can lock the probe in power and run the car to bring it in the shop, makes it easier than pushing it uphill :thumb:

i gotta agree with blackbeauty on this one a power probe 3 is very handy. A DMM is obviously better for more engine type diag but that power probe is great for figuring out lights and fuel pumps and other basic stuff that needs 12v and a good ground. bassically a testlight on 'roids. i've used mine to run a fuel pump from shaverlake to fresno in the middle of the night

my $3 roll of wire and 0.50 in aligator clips beats that. ya good basic tool I have to agree but has no place in my hands. I would recomend it to basic troubleshooters that are never ever going to upgrade to a DMM. If you plan to get /; use a DMM in the future don't waste the money... BTW you can make a test light out of a scrap 12V light socket and some wire.

BTW, I continue to update my list on the front page here from time to time.

viewtopic.php?p=687#p687

Feel free to look it over, I've removed things like anti free and orange hand wash in favor of more water and biodegradable soap.
