Found a trip report on a Toyota forum with a link to this video. They did the trip in 2012, but only got around to uploading the video in December. They make it look hard, I go right through those spots.

At 3 minutes he says "Alright, this what you do" ..........and falls down. Ha ha.

I know what you mean, the spotter/trail driver in us knows what he needs to do.

That doesn't look like fun...

What section of the trail do you call the gatekeeper? Trail head to chicken rock?

North end of the trail, right before White Bark Vista Point. That guy actually did pretty good, everything seemed to fall right into place. But there wasn't much snow, we came out of there two years ago in a full foot of snow.

There's some cool footage from the air in this one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZStU4hAZXgw

It was shot by a club of mostly Marines and veterans from SanDiego.

I think Gatekeeper gets the anxiety up for just about everyone, even if you've been through it many times. Things can go sideways if you're not paying attention.

People under estimate straps and bailing wire all of the time. Rated for a few hundred pounds, but wrapped multiple times and they can take allot of load. I don't understand why they didn't strap it sooner, but everyone thinks differently.

Also why I care a full box (and sometimes a sector too!)
