Post Rubicon work party June 11-12th?
The RTF is planning a work party June 11-12th on the new property. Justin and I have been chatting about going. Hows that date look for others? The property looks to be about the middle of the trail (just after old/big sluice) so its a decent chunk of the way into the trail. Basically you'd need a pretty well prepped rig to wheel in and there's no viable "bypass" for street vehicles like there is to Ellis and some other parts of the trail. Not really a shakedown is my point

If there's more people than rigs interested I could throw my rear seat in and semi-comfortably seat 4.

Nice. That could work out well. What's your plan, what parts of the trail are you running, where are you camping, etc?

Looks like the plan is to head up Friday. Probably camp at Buck and head back out in Sunday. I'll keep you posted. What about you?

Well I'll be following the work party which I think is on the new RTF property a little past big sluice.

Justin and I are planning to head up next weekend. Anyone care to join either with their rig or as passenger?

Danny, Nolan and I volunteered with RTF this past weekend. We were tasked with helping build a new trail into the (not so) recently purchased RTF property, so they can open it to the public.

Our new friend Jay was instrumental and us making it off the trail. He had a really nicely build Toyota on 40"s.

I looked for you, there were a bunch of XJs out that weekend.

You a n00b to pictures or what!? :goodfinger:

Thanks for sharing, I took VERY few pics.

Was awesome to get on the trail and do some work on the new property. It's truly amazing that the trail is expanding in 2016. Keep buying those cantina raffle tickets and supporting RTF!

lol I blame stuper motors and it's (not so new) lackluster owner, but that's a different rant.

The property is awesome and that they will open it up for public access in the near future. I do think it's truly unfortunate, the inner fighting that made them grant some of the land back just to get a cat trail to the property from the rubicon trail (especially when some of the Rubicon Trail Property owners are on the RTF board), but it seems they worked it out and it's coming to fruition.

I'm looking forward to camping there again. The area will be a little more private for a while before it's really discovered, there is a small river that flows over the granite, you can watch rigs making their way over the indian trail on the slabs and my favorite part... it has an amazing long view that challenges observation point!

We camped east of all those XJs at a secluded little spot. Hiked up to the waterfall on Saturday and hung out most of the day, left pretty early on Sunday. Think we were on the road by 7:15. A couple pics:

Damn that water was moving out rockbound! Last time I hiked up there it was barely trickling, but then it was August I think.

It was nice to see all the water this year. And more amazing to be on the Rubicon with no fire restrictions!
