Post I want a Mustang
Every few months I get the "I want a Mustang" itch. I usually end up cruising craiglist for Fox bodies. There's usually some cool examples but today I came across one that I can't stop thinking about so I'm sharing my obsession.

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/4200113336.html

No, I'm not gonna buy. But damn its fun to dream. I love the lx tail lights and the notch back and im a sucker for red. I also like that this guy already blew money on a motor, clutch and trans. Think he'll trade for an 04 focus?

This thread will die and in a month or so I'll get the itch and revive it. Youre welcome.

Those have to me my least favorite looking mustang (regardless if they had some of the best engines). Well actually the mustang II was uglier… :goodfinger:

You can do like Mark did. Buy a mustang engine now and years from now after you've built it, you'll instead drop it into an EB!

I love the fox bodies. They're so ugly that they look awesome. Also my mom had an 89 that I grew up with so I think I have a childhood soft spot for them.

I like the simplicity, relatively good power and aftermarket support of the 5.0's, though I don't know that I'd call it some of the best engines compared to what Ford's doing now.

I've learned from my truck mistakes. I want to buy something someone has poured money into instead of pouring my own money into it :thumb:

I think my favorite part of it is that all of his modifications are "tasteful" whatever that means to him. Also I hope he put the engine he bought from Summit in, in the Summit parking lot

I find them tasteful so I guess I agree with him!

That looks like a good one. I used to hate the Fox bodies but now I have a soft spot for them. I'd love an svo as a commuter.

I'd say go for it. Is not like you have to many projects already

As long as we're on this terrible subject, I've considered buying one of the old Lighting SVT trucks… but it's only a fleeting idea...

The first gen is gonna have an E4OD and a fairly mild MAF 351, not a particularly inspiring combination.

Though with a full manual valve body C6 and some coilovers I could see it being fun at Pismo.

I like the Fox Bodies best, but you have to remember that just about everyone beats on them cause they can. It also looks like he used a whole bottle of Armor All on anything black under the hood. If I was to buy one it be a that body.

I have a soft spot for Mustangs, They were my first love for a car. Daily driven some sort of a Mustang for 26 years with exception for about 5 years which was a 73 Cougar, but underneith its the same as a Mustang.
1. 70 Coupe, First Car and still own it
2. 78 Mustang II Gia V8,
3. 73 Cougar 351C, was Quick to go, but so was the gas
4. 90 GT 5 speed stock
5. 91 GT 5 speed stock
6. 90 GT 5 speed with a few parts added on *Current driver
Also own a 67 Fastback with Eleanor cloning in the works, but I've never driven it.
