Post New in Town
Hey Guys, my name is James and I just moved to Hayward about 2 months ago for a job. I've been looking for a group to go wheeling with, and I was recommended to this forum after I bought some stuff one of the members here (his name is Dan) was selling on Craiglist.

I'm currently in the very early stages of building my '99 Cherokee. At this point I'm more collecting parts because I have no where to work on my rig and it's my daily driver so it can't be out of commsion for more than a weekend.

I do however have a rig I can borrow to go wheeling in, so I'm not just tagging along as a passenger.

Welcome to UC4x4.com James! Rig looks good on jungle trail there. We're going to Hollister May 5th for some wheeling, BBQ'in and camping, you should join.

So what are your plans for the rig? Gears, lockers, sliders? If you build it one peace at a time, I don't see why most of the work couldn't be knocked out a weekend at a time.

PS Your tag line made me laugh!

The Plan:

Synergy Suspension 3 link with 6" of lift and 35" tires
hp 44 front locked with 4.88's and high steer
ford 9" rear locked with 4.88's
"frame" stiffeners
rocker replacement w/ 2x4 .120 wall
full cage

plus all the little stuff that I haven't quite figured out yet

once I have more of the parts assembled I'll start building a little at a time, but at this point I barely have anything to work on

Hey James, it was good to meet you last weekend. I like the Cherokee, its a cool platform, start a build thread and keep us up to date on your build!

Also as chexmix said, keep an eye on our trips forum for upcoming trips.

Welcome to the forum. Sometimes you need to get creative on places to work on your shit. And sometimes you just need to bribe people.
