Post Ford 44
Didn't someone have a ford hp44 front housing. What are the year breaks and how do I I.d. what I'm working with to replace it. I know the one i have looks like it had wedges cut off of it and its definitely full width so that would be 78/9 right? Buddy at work meeds one since his pinion bearing failed and messed up the housing.

Post Re: Ford 44
I just sold one that took me months to get rid of!

If the C wedges were cut off its NOT a 78/79 because those years had the cast c all the way out the knuckle on the drivers side.

High pinion with "removable" C wedges is a pretty small year span, like 75 to 77 F-150 (bronco's too but they're narrower and highly sought after).

Or you could get a 78/79 F250 (8 lug) with leaf spings and cut the perches off, though I think the inner shafts on these are like an inch longer.
