Post Hello all
I've met a few of you at various times but I'm looking to get back on the trail now that my rig is back on the road. My name is Jeremy (NOT Mike hehe) and I just finished my axle swap on my 85 Bronco. I'm friends with Project86 and I've seen some of you out and about and on FSB throughout the years. I'll probably be more active on here seeing that it's more local and FSB is pretty much dead in the NorCal section (I'm in Roseville). I've been in the Rubicon with the TTB and I'm looking to go all the way through next summer. Until then, I'm down for any snow wheeling trips (if we ever get any). Anyway here's my rig, as I mentioned 85 XLT on 38" TSLs. D44 solid front with 4.88s and a Lockrite, 8.8 rear with an Aussie. 6 inch Deaver coils and Duff arms, Warn Powerplant winch with air tank. Motor and tranny/TC are stock.

Welcome to the board. Nice looking rig, but who in their right mind would wheel a full size!? ;)

Post Re: Hello all
Thanks guys...yeah I'll be out at Prairie City on Saturday if anyone's around...testing out the new suspension. I've been wheeling the 8.8 with 38's since 2007...I don't drive it a lot and I'm pretty easy on it but you're right, definitely not the ideal setup. I've taken it in the Rubicon and no problems so far, knock on wood. I have a 9 inch laying around...just have to get the money together to buy gears and locker...

Jason - I don't know about camo, but I've been seriously thinking about flat black...especially since the driver side is beat to crap and I need to buy a new fender and door...

Not sure you're gaining much going from a 8.8 to a 9 since you're already on 38's. I did the same thing and ended up with a 14B.

Well I've been mulling that over for awhile...only reason for going with the 9 is that I already have it. That and I just finished the SAS, so I wanted to see how I like it before putting the money into 8 lug outers...

flat black definitely looks good to. and if you get bored of it its a good primer for the camo.

You'll love the SAS guaranteed  I'd vote to wheel it a bit as is before putting money into the 9", if you run into strength issues with the 8.8 chances are you'll have the same issues with a 9.

Post Re: Hello all
:stupid: Although if your going 1/2 ton the 9" is such a better axle to work on. I did the same thing as Dan, then I swapped chevy 8 lug outers on my 76 D44 and a 10.25 rear.

Also 10.25 is much better then 14b because it doesn't have a lame bow tie stamped on it!

Ha, I'd buy a Jeep before I bought a Yota. Besides with how overpriced they are, I'd only be able to afford the engine...maybe
